Hawk on the Light Pole in Front of My House

I was bringing my granddaughter home from school and saw this huge bird swooping down, missing his prey and then he landed on the lamp post. I was so excited, pulled over before I went into my driveway to capture a couple of shots with my phone. I ran into the house to grab my camera to take some better shots, but he was gone.

They would sit on my fence occasionally, coming after the birds on my feeders, you know, kind of a smorgasbord situation, but I have so many tall shrubs and trees now, they’re more protected.

I’m off to write! It is only going to be about 84–which will be about 94 heat index wise, but that’s better than 112!

Have a fun day!!!

Darla Taylor Oh, he's a gorgeous bird! He looks like a red-tailed hawk. I looked it up and that seems to match. Excellent photo even if it is with your phone. :) Glad the birds at your feeders are more protected now. I haven't seen my Cooper's hawks lately. Hope they're okay. I know some people who hate the birds of prey, but I don't. They have to eat too and they often have babies to feed. I would rather not see them cstch their prey, but even that is a sight to behold.

Hope you got lots of writing done yesterday and hope you can write more today.

Take care, hsve a fantastic day and a wonderful week. <3
