The general practitioner warns patients not to accept certain symptoms as normal and to consult a general practitioner
GPs have warned people never to take certain symptoms as normal and to contact their GP if they experience them as soon as possible. Dr. Raj Arora, known as @drrajarora, is a general practitioner and health educator focusing on women’s health and skin health. He encourages people to seek the necessary help and not to live in pain.
An expert told TikTok that certain symptoms can be caused by endometriosis. For those who don’t know what this is, the common condition is incurable and involves endometrial-like tissue growing in other areas such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes. Although treatments exist, they are not always effective.

She explains: “When you have endometriosis, endometrial-like cells can appear outside of your pelvis in organs like your bowel and bladder. When you have your period, they can shed and cause inflammation, scarring and adhesions.”
He explains that “adhesions are fibrous scars that can stick to organs, causing dysfunction.” Because of this, it can cause problems with urination or problems with opening the bowels. If you have pain when going to the bathroom, it may mean that your endometriosis has progressed a bit and the area is scarring.”

If you have pain during intercourse, this could be another sign. The GP explains that this happens because “endometrial-like cells outside the uterus and pelvis can attach to organs, causing inflammation and scarring. And this can lead to pain during intercourse.”
3. PregnancyIf you’re having trouble getting pregnant, your GP says it could be because you have endometriosis. Explaining why this might be, he says, “This [endometriosis] can often affect the reproductive organs and cause them to stick together or cause dysfunction.”
He further says that as a result, this can lead to “fertility or infertility.” He adds that if you are having difficulties and are concerned, you should contact your GP.
At the end of the video, he says: “The main message of this video is don’t accept these symptoms as normal. If you are suffering, don’t suffer in silence, go to the doctor, talk to someone and get the help you need.”
Symptoms of endometriosisThe symptoms of endometriosis can vary. Some women are severely affected, while others may have no noticeable symptoms.
