The Government Security Center warns of storms with heavy rain and strong winds, as well as possible flooding and power outages. A warning on this issue has been sent to residents of nine voivodeships.

Attention! Today (17/08) storms with heavy rain and strong winds. Possible flooding and power outages. Protect items that could be blown away by the wind – we read on the RCB website.

Alert valid in the province: Lodz, Swietokrzyskie, Podkarpackie, Lesser Poland, Silesia, Opole, Lower Silesia (counties: Dzierżoniów, Jelenia Góra, Kamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Kłodzko, Oleśnica, Oława, Strzeliński, Świdnica, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzyski, Wrocław, Wrocławski, Ząbkowicki), Masovian Voivodeship (counties: Lipski, Przysucha, Radom, Radomski, Szydłowiec, Zwoleń) and Greater Poland (counties: Kępiński, Ostrzeszów).

As RCB recalled, in the case of flood risk It is recommended to move valuable items to the upper floors of the building, secure the building and prepare sandbags, and move vehicles from the property to non-hazardous locations. You should also ensure the safety of your pets and make sure your cell phone is fully charged.

You must immediately inform the fire department of any incidents that you believe are or may be of importance to safety by calling the emergency number 112. – RCB emphasized.
