Weird Wednesday: Mars

Apparently there is the possibility of water on Mars. There’s only a few problems:

It’s 20 km below the surfaceWe would have to get there to get itWe don’t have the technology to drill that deep

How deep is the deepest hole in the Earth? The Kola Superdeep Borehole in Russia, is the deepest hole ever dug reaches approximately 7.5 miles below the Earth’s surface (or 12,262 meters), a depth that took about 20 years to reach. They had to stop when the temperatures were too high and the rocks were like melted plastic.

Here are some real facts:

Of course, you can’t make a deep hole in the Earth without someone thinking this:

But I digress…

If we were able to get to the water on Mars, there is the possibility that microbes could have survived in the water, and if the 2017 movie “Life” has taught us anything … that’s not a good thing.

Is the movie good? It’s a predictable, overused trope-ridden, sci-fi horror flick with an all-star cast.

I liked it.
