Parents do not have priority in choosing leave dates during the summer holidays

The employer cannot assume that in the months of July and August leave is granted mainly to parents of school-age children. The Labour Code does not grant them any privileges in this regard. Such a policy would therefore constitute unequal treatment in employment.

July and August are the months when employees traditionally like to take time off and take holidays. For employers, this is a period of increased effort to reconcile employee absences with the smoothest possible functioning of the company. When deciding who can take leave and at what times, it should be borne in mind that unjustified differences in the situation of employees in this regard in specific circumstances may constitute discrimination.
