LIEUTENANT DENNY HAD JUST FINISHED HIS BREAKFAST when Lieutenant Chamberlayne walked in.

“I say, have you seen Wickham? He seems to be missing.”

Denny sat up. “Missing? Are you certain? Sometimes he sleeps in town.”
