the memory quilt

Available on Amazon

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Wanda Luthman’s Christian and Children’s Book Blog!

I have a special book to share with you because it’s so meaningful. It’s called The Memory Quilt by Lori Keating.

“When we honor those who have passed, it also helps with our healing. THE MEMORY QUILT is a poignant picture book written by Lori Keating and illustrated by Alyssa Grizenko.

Grace has just lost her friend Jason, who was more like a big brother than her next-door neighbor. Lori Keating adds love to every stitched word as Grace struggles to find a way to honor Jason’s memory. When she decides to create a quilt, there’s only one problem. She doesn’t know how to sew! Her mom helps her make the quilt out of Jason’s clothes. Lori Keating’s debut picture book was released on January 9, 2024.”

This book is a helpful resource for families who are grieving.

Lori lives in sunny Southwest Florida with her wonderful husband and daughter. Ever since she was in the fourth grade and entered a young author’s contest and won, she knew she wanted to be an author someday. When she’s not writing, her favorite activities are spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and enjoying time on the beach.

Thank you, Lori, for writing such a meaningful book on a subject that may be difficult to discuss with children. I’m sure parents and educators will find this useful to address how to help someone who is grieving.

On a side note, I lost my husband 5 years ago and I had someone else sew (because I don’t know how to either) 2 quilts made from my husband’s favorite t-shirts. I did two because there were enough for two but also the color patterns leant themselves to separating them. It is indeed a beautiful gift and keepsake for anyone grieving. I can cuddle down under it and feel snuggled by my husband (figuratively, of course).

Thank you, loyal blog followers, for stopping by today. I hope you will purchase a copy of this book and share it with your favorite child(ren).

As always, likes, comments, and shares are appreciated.

God Bless You, everyone
