How Has Another Week Gone By Already!
this has been a very long week - the hurricane in Houston created some chaos, the house I own in Spring still does not have power - sigh. Thankfully my daughter does have power so that has made her life a little easier.
then On Saturday I went to the races with friends. I love going to the horse races. I was raised near the trotters and that was always a fun and affordable night out - especially since with trotters a long shot always wins at least once. With the thoroughbreds we have to come up with new methods of betting. I look at the horses tongue - if it's hanging out or they're licking their lips - I bet to show (they might win, but they show most of the time!). My goal is to have a good time and maybe walk away with as much money as I came with ! I came close - but missed on the last two races.
Then we have more Travel photos - When you're on the road for almost three weeks - there are a lot of photos to share! After the badlands we finally arrived in Deadwood South Dakota - that's where the booksigning was - the whole reason for the trip! I didn't realize that Wild Bill Hickock was killed in deadwood, so there was a lot of mention of his name as a matter of fact we were there at the annual Wild Bill days.
We did pop over to devil's tower - but if you've ever seen Close Encounters of the Third Kind - then you know what the one big mountain looks like LOL - Especially since I didn't take a picture!
After that was the big signing. I haven't done one in a lot of years and I think I'm going to try and do at least one a year - but I won't make such a big trip of it - I'm getting too old for such long working trips - I loved seeing author friends in person and doing research for more books but boy is that a lot of time in the car driving!
That's it for today - It has taken me hours to get this done - I don't believe my phone has ever rung as much as it has today! Now i'm off to go back to work on Just One Look the last of the Baron books... for now LOL.
