Measure of Devotion is Live!

It has been a whirlwind of a day! Measure of Devotion is now live on Amazon and you can add it on Goodreads. Right now it’s available only as an ebook, but a print version is coming toward the end of June. I’ll also be adding it to Barnes and Noble and other retailers in the weeks to come. Since this is my debut novel, I had no idea what to expect. I uploaded the file last night, but it didn’t appear until today. When my bestie called me to let me know she had downloaded it, I figured out how to check my sales and saw that three people had already bought my book!

I was floored.

For months I’ve been dreaming of that moment when someone I don’t know buys my book. I was fully prepared for it to take days, even weeks, to get that first “stranger” sale. It has been crazy to see those initial three sales grow throughout the day. I have no clue how these people are finding Measure of Devotion, as this is the first public post I’ve made since it went live.

I already have a new addiction: checking my sales/ranking. Every time I see another copy sold, it’s strange to think that somewhere in the world there’s another person with my book. How crazy is that? Throughout the day I’ve been tracking Measure of Devotion on the Hot New Releases lists on Amazon and taking screenshots as it rises.

I still have a lot to do to add Measure of Devotion to all the relevant sites, but I’m having so much fun today I can barely calm down enough to actually work.

Now, I’ll be biting my nails waiting on the first review to be posted.

Oh, and for those of you who check out the Measure of Devotion Amazon page (and you really should), no, it is not a non-fiction theater book. I have no idea how it ended up in that category. One of the many launch day glitches that has made this day more interesting.

Once the hubbie gets home, I think we’re going to open a bottle of bubbly and celebrate, but tomorrow it’s going to be straight back to work. I’m editing the sequel, Measure of Strength, in an effort to get it published by the end of summer, and I’m writing another novel that I’ll be getting to the editor in July.
