Partners in Crime: Are Two Killers Better Than One?

Cheryl Paradis will present at New York Public Library’s Mid-Manhattan branch on Wednesday September 21st.

The panel will be moderated by Elizabeth Zelvin and include presentations by Cici McNair, Cheryl Paradis, Robert Quackenbush, and Kate White.

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 6:30 p.m. on the 6th floor (40th Street and 5th Avenue)

Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead—but how about exceptions to the rule? Sometimes killers, thieves, and grifters, both real-life and fictional, buddy up to commit their crimes. What makes these partnerships tick? Is it the pathological obsession of folie à deux? An evil partner dominating a weak one? All in the family? An unholy alliance between practical crooks whose schemes are so ambitious they need a team to carry them out? A panel of mystery and true crime writers discuss what some of these partners in crime did and how it all worked out.
