Matthew 6:18 (NKJV) “so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

REWARDS FROM THE FATHER

Philippians 4:9 (AMP) The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you.

Fasting and prayer are great ways to receive instruction and revelation through the Holy Spirit of God. Don’t think you always have to do a liquid fast; there are other things in your life you can fast for a while. Receive a fresh flow of God and allow Him to do something new in your life. This is a way for us to humble ourselves before God and spend time in the secret place with Him.

Ezra 8:23 (NLT) So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.

When you are in the secret place of the All Mighty, you will find peace and rest for your soul. And don’t just go to the secret place during fasting; abide in that secret place. The Bible tells us to remain or abide in Him, and we will bear much fruit. A fruitless tree God will cut off at the root.

Psalm 125:1-2 (NASB1995) Those who trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.

Declaration: God is my shield and shepherd, and I will dwell in peace and safety.
