Weekly Update – June 4, 2024

First and foremost, Happy Pride Month to all! Except for the homophobes and transphobes out there, of course. You lot, I hope every day is filled with discomfort and misery until you pull your heads out of your bigoted asses and accept that queer people deserve all the rights and privileges you enjoy, and should be free to live and love without fear.

If you just read that and are now angry at me for being an ally, I have to ask: what are you doing here in the first place? You have read my work, right? There are queer characters, like, all over the place.

Speaking of queer characters, I decided over the weekend to post on this website, in full and for free, Like a Knife Through the Heart, my contribution to the now out-of-print Beneath the Mask – A Superhero Romance Anthology. It’s partly a Pride Month thing — the protagonist and her love interest are lesbians — but also because the story connects to the next Action Figures novel, Legacies, in that one of the leads is the descendent of Like a Knife‘s heroine, the Sapphire Silhouette. In other news, the first draft of the next Adventures of Strongarm & Lightfoot book is finally finished! I wrapped that up on Sunday, and immediately launched into the first draft of the ninth book. And maybe a little bit of the first draft of the follow-up to Legacies. Because my brain is now on overdrive, it seems.
