Hello from Galveston!

It's that time of year for the Kenistons.  For the last three years we have rented a beach house and spent a long weekend in Galveston.  My goal is to create undistracted family time and more importantly, memories that my grands can look back on long after I'm gone.

I still remember being a little girl and scrambling to keep up with my fast walking grandmother when she took me to NYC to see children's theater in Greenwhich Village. Probably why I still love broadway shows. I remember every christmas going to see the rockets at radio city music hall when it only cost the price of a movie ticket. I remember slathering cream on our hands after doing the dishes.  I very much want my grandkids to still have memories of me when they are grandparents. So here we come, every year.

While my grandson enjoys the water and the sand and especially the birds, my granddaughter seems to have inherited a fish gene from someone. She's not quite two and would get knocked over and face plant in the water and get up giggling.  The kid is definitely part fish!  I may blame it on my friend author Olivia Sands - if you let her she'd stay in the water 24/7!  Now the fun part - something new for us - the house next door was rented out for a wedding! How appropriate is that for a romance author! We got to enjoy the view of the ceremony from our balcony and then later when they were playing music I danced with my son on the beach. That was seriously fun - Hubby was inside so didn't get to dance with him, but I probably should have run in and grabbed him, after all, don't get many chances to go dancing anymore!

Here are a couple of shots of the ceremony, the house lit up for the nighttime DJ, and a shot of my son (the tiny speck in the distance lol) sitting by the water today, soaking up the sun!  As for writing - I got Just One Surprise off to the editor - a week late but there - y'all will get to read it by the end of the month. Not sure we're going to be able to release it early on my website this time - but will keep y'all posted if I can.

Now it's time for me to take a walk on the beach with my son - will pop back next Monday. Enjoy your week and your family and friends! Time is so precious!
