Next Steps

A lot of wheels turned over the course of the last couple weeks. First, though decidedly the least exciting, was that I've gotten all of the business aspects of self-publishing squared away. That includes business names, permits, tax information, as well as accounts. All the nitty-gritty stuff that I should only have to deal with once. Apart from renewing things, but I'll take those as they come.

Much more exciting is that my editor finished their work a week early. I got their notes back just the other day, along a style sheet. The plan is to tuck into that right after I post this. This is the last step between me and having a completed manuscript for Shikaree. I am absolutely ecstatic!

After I get the manuscript squared away, I'll run the document through a typesetting program to get it in a professional layout. Appropriate page counts and size and all that jazz. After that comes the hunt for a cover artist. I've done a little cursory scour of Reedsy to see what kind of professionals are out there, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. No sense contacting an artist if they won't know the size of their canvas.

Other than that, book six continues to plug along. Finished a chapter just the other day and will start another tomorrow. I'm into the beginnings of act three, so things are going to get dicey soon. Action has already kicked off in a big way and there's plenty more to come. Excited to see exactly where this one ends up going.

Toodles.
