Not Christian Robots

Some people say that God’s electing us for salvation wouldmake us robots. But listen to Jesus in John 10 verses 27 and 28.

“My sheep hear My voice, and Iknow them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they willnever perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”

This is a synopsis of aChristian’s life.

The first stage of life is beingcounted as one of Jesus’ sheep before we were even born. We were chosen by the Father to behis sheep. Jesus knows who we are and at theright time, he calls us.

The second stage comes when wehear his voice. This is an effectual calling. We may have heard about Jesus andthe gospel multiple times, however, this time, it is Jesuscalling and the Holy Spirit makes us alive. This is the point where Jesusgives us eternal life.

The next stage is when we followJesus. We do not follow Jesus because weare robots or because we are forced. We follow because the Holy Spiritnot only makes us alive but gives us the desire to follow Jesus. Our will now lines up with God’swill. It lasts forever because we aregiven eternal life. His promise and the promise of theFather is that we will never be carried away from him by any evil, sin, or evenour own desires.
