With the highs come the low, low, lows.

Posted on Lily’s Facebook 02/12/23: Today it seemed fate stepped in and then rained on my parade. It started with me having a social battery crash from the amazing day before, it made me stay home to recuperate, cancelling my plans to accompany my mum to a Christmas Market she and friends were exhibiting in. I had wanted to go but my body just said no. Then, at around midday, when we usually receive the post, the dogs started grumbling and I looked out the window – a sign someone and/or a car had arrived. I looked out my bedroom window and saw a robin on the fence. He was so fluffy and cute. And the post arrived with a package! I started to shake with excitement; it was my order of thirty author copies of my debut novel! But my brain was already clocking something was wrong with the box; it was wrapped in tape, and one corner was rounded… But I was excited and couldn’t wait to open it. To say I had another mental crash was an understatement. Seven of the books are not resaleable and the others all have some sort of damage – damage I’m hoping spending some days under a typewriter (an impromptu book press) will iron out.
