The Yellow eyed Penguins have just finished their moult and can go back to sea. They've been starving for most of March and early April whilst their new feathers grew in and became waterproof. Their babies this year weren't healthy great fat fluffy grey offspring and had to be fed to raise them to survival weight – not enough fish - and inoculated against a new disease which arrived with the raised sea temper...
