So, lately, I've been having this issue where I can't read books that have a heroine caught between two men. I don't know whether it's the amount of teaser series that are out there where the author never makes a choice that has driven me to put off a lot of books I normally read, but I can't get in the right frame of mind to read them anymore. I know that plot is very popular right now and it'll always be around--but I can't help but feel it's turning into a gimmick to get readers hooked on a series.
Instead of writing a legitimately good series, some authors will stick a love triangle in the mix and draw it out way past it's time knowing that readers will stick around to see the ending. If there ever
is an ending. Maybe I'm old fashioned, lol, but I like my heroine to pick one guy eventually--or at least stick to a threesome after the first two books if the author really doesn't want to choose one man. Menage's fix everything, don't you know?
How do you feel about these types of books? Am I late to the party and everyone is used to them or are people having the same "get it over with" frustrations?
