A Child’s Folly

Tuckme in and say goodnight,

Nowthe day, at last, is done.

Agentle kiss upon my cheek

Sayseverything will be alright,

Helpsme sleep straight through the night,

Keepsthe monsters from my closet

Onceyou’ve turned off all the lights.

Gentledreams are sure to follow

Ina new world far away

Wheredaffodils play on the hill

WithMother Goose, Jack and Jill,

Andall the king’s horses find their gait

Asthey primp and prance about at will.

AndI have thoughts of being big,

Ido what I see grownups do.

Inever-so simplistic ways

Ibanter through their hectic day

Torecreate the fantasy

Tilmorning’s light comes into play.
