Well, here we are, folks – the fourth anniversary of the initialpublication of The Disposable! Happy Anniversary to me! :)
I honestly can’t stress enough how proud I am to have allfour books of my “trilogy” out there in the world for people to read and(hopefully) enjoy. Though those people are currently rather few in number –spread the word! Tell your friends! Write a review! Please? ;p – I appreciateevery single person who has taken a chance on reading my daft but serious booksand have their own versions of Fodder, Flirt, Shoulders, Dullard and Pleasancelurking in the Realm of their own imagination. I’m so happy to know they nowlive outside of just mine. :)
And despite the fact I’m hardly winning any awards, I wouldlike to do a few thank yous. I would like to thank my lovely family for simplyexisting, because by doing so they make my world a much better place. I would verymuch like to thank my best friend, who has lived these stories with me from theday I started planning them and provided a much needed sounding board andstupidity checker over the years. I would like to thank the friends andfamily who have done their best to spread the word and encourage people to givemy stories a go. But the major thank you has to go to my lovely publishers atThinklings Books, who took a chance on publishing a strange British woman andher nutty books while trying to run a small business in a time of COVID and havestuck with me and my books throughout, even though they weren’t exactly settingany publication records. And they’ve done it whilst also being very nicepeople. :)
So, as I sit here, staring at my novels sitting on the shelfopposite me, I find myself very proud. I may not have achieved storming levelsof success – but hey, there’s still time! ;) – but to simply be able to hold atangible copy of the world I created in my hands is such a beautiful thing. Andwhatever happens going forward, that’s all I ever wanted. :)
