A Spring To Do Happiness List
On a beautiful spring day, it can be easy to be happy. On a beautiful spring day that also happens to be Easter Sunday, it’s easy to be joyful. Due to picking up a pesky germ that has me keeping the tissue box always within reach, I think I missed going to church on an Easter Sunday for the first time since I got married. Trust me, that’s a long time. So, the day was a little weird without church and without a family visit, but it was still a great day to remember the blessings of life.
Maybe you started the day with some chocolate or jelly beans from the Easter bunny. I bought a bag of jelly beans, but haven’t opened the bag. I’m waiting until I have others here to help me eat them, but I have been sneaking one or two of the mini candy bars that I had intended to be part of the Easter Egg hunt. Guess I’m finding those.
A little chocolate can sometimes change a person’s mood from grumpy to happy.
At our church we have a special time set aside during the service for prayer requests and also for giving thanks for good things we appreciate. Sometimes we call them “everyday blessings.” We might mention the little things in life such as sunshine and rain, a grandkid’s hug, a kind word, or flowers. On second thought, those aren’t such little things. Could be chocolate might have been mentioned this morning.
I love this next quote and it was certainly that this morning when I went out to walk the dogs.
My favorite weather is bird chirping weather. —Terri Guillemets
