It is windy, snow is on the ground and, 27 degrees Fahrenheit. I am going to Studio 89 Cafe for an author’s Black History event. Author colleagues and guests will be at the Cafe though it might be too cold for anyone to venture outside their home. When I arrived I was delighted to see that folks were sipping coffee and tea. This leads me to the word commitment.
A commitment is a promise or a pledge and most individuals take their promise or pledge very seriously. But what about the people who renage on their promises? There is usually a good reason for someone to go back on a promise. Or is there?
Commitments reinforce a person’s credibility, give credence to what they say and increase favorability in the minds of folks looking on. People are usually judged by their actions. So, it is worth the effort to fulfill commitments.
