Renegade characters

My lovely editor and I are putting the finishing touches on one manuscript, which I hope to submit for publication soon. That one is a fantasy novel about a maimed giant.

And I'm writing the final 20% or so of another manuscript, except that my characters have taken an unauthorized detour to another country. I'm not sure I can reel them back. I'm not sure I want to reel them back--I'm having fun with the journey too.
