Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: January 2024

Hello everyone,

I did not meet my goal of trying to stay out of bookstores and buying new books. How could I when I received so many Barnes & Noble gift cards? My stack is getting huge, but it gives me much more motivation to read as to when I only had a little bit of books. I've been rereading old books and reading new books. With that, I have been rotating how I'm reading them.

Here's my reading wrap-up for January :)

- Amy December 28th - January 1st: Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone
J.K. Rowling

Book 1 of 7

*****

I reread this in order to decide if I wanted this to be donated or kept on my shelf. There were so many things that I did not remember happening in the books (Dursleys are blonde, HOW the sorcerer's stone appeared in Harry's pockets, etc). Book 1 of 3

****

I saw this on the shelves of the store and instantly bought it. It looks super cool and I have yet to see any spoilers from the TV show. (Although we know those don't always follow the book identically). I loved this book! I did predict part of the ending, but it did get wilder than I could imagine. January 9th - January 15 Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets
J.K. Rowling

Book 2 of 7

I already know this is my least favorite Harry Potter book so I expect that this will take the longest for me to read. However, I know there are a lot of details that were not in the movie so I'm excited to rediscover them. Picture January 16th - January 20th: Picture One of Us Is Next

Book 2 of 3

This is the sequel to One of Us Is Lying that focuses on Bronwyn's sisters and some of the old gang is back. I absolutely adored focusing on Maeve while still having familiar faces.

*****
January 21st - Ongiong: Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban
J.K. Rowling

Book 3 of 7

I am rereading this book. I loved the introduction of Sirius Black and can't wait to reread about it. I always forget a couple details.
