Regardless of the world and genre (dystopia/post-apocalyptic) this is a romance novel. I’d like to introduce you to Dark Inheritance: Fallen Empire and invite you to sample chapter one. As you can no doubt tell, I’m a little excited about this release.

Different from normal historical fare, Dark Inheritance is alternate history. Like The Hunger Games, The Road, or The Book of Eli, I’ve destroyed the existing government–not in a futuristic setting but an historical one. I took one of the most rigid societies in England and tossed them into chaos, one they were poorly prepared for. And then I created romance.

I wanted an edgy world I could create a Regency romance, one that didn’t necessarily follow the usual tropes. I’d love to hear from you, your take on the story, and whether I succeeded in merging dystopia, Regency, and romance.
