Walk Away

It’sdeep in December,

Thedays have grown shorter,

Justlike your patience with me.

Nightsthat blow cold

Bothinside and out

Inour snow-covered destiny.

Iknow that we would both be better off

Ifwe would just call it a day.

Butit’s really hard

Tolay down your cards,

Getup and just walk away.

We’vefaced some fears in our stormy years,

Togetherwe’ve managed to win.

Butlately it seems we’re on different teams

Pullingthe rope from both ends.

Ifthis is the game that our destiny calls for,

Honey,I don’t want to play.

We’vebeen through too much to limp by on a crutch,

It’sbetter to just walk away.

Iwish there was some way to make it all better,

Takeback all the things that I said, but

Idon’t have a potion or miracle pill

Toremove all those echoing words from your head.

GuessI could tell you that I was just blinded

Byanger in visions of red.

Sofull of myself, caught in the moment,

Icouldn’t control all the things that I said.

Butthat wouldn’t matter in our big decision.

DoI leave or do I stay?

Ithink we both know

It’stime to go.

It’sover, so just walk away.
