Dauphines, in Amsterdam and Saskatchewan

From Alex Emond, in southern Saskatchewan: "Here is a little car perhaps more suited to the streets of Paris than a backyard in Lafleche, Saskatchewan. A tiny (845c.c.) engine smaller than most Harley-Davidsons. Mets-en qu'j'ai aimé ça!"AL: These cars were wildly popular in Montreal. And on the Law of Dreams book tour in Europe, we were taken out to dinner at Dauphine, a restaurant in an ex-Renault dealership in Amsterdam. Speaking of tiny cars, my piece on Richard Scarry's classic children's book, Cars and Trucks and Things that Go is in The New York Times Book Review this week.
