Has anyone read (or attempted to read) the
Harvard Classics fifty-book set? It was alternatively known as "Dr. Eliot's Five-Foot Shelf of Books" and was first published in 1909/1910.
I have the Kindle
Harvard Classics Reader's Guide to a Liberal Education which links to each volume via the Internet Archive. The audio portion has AI-generated text-to-speech but is not very pleasing to the ear: en-GB - Daniel is the least annoying.
Link to the Kindle book:
Reader's Guide to a Liberal EducationMy reading for comprehension works best with hard copy books vice digital format. I have been looking for a used set online but the cost ($400-1200) and condition (damaged to rarely used) varies.
Any information and/or feedback is greatly appreciated.
