In which I make a hard decision...

Here goes: I set the release date for Whisper before I had gotten very far into editing. Now that I'm in deep, I realize it's not going to be possible to stick to the original date of June 6, and still give you a quality book. Indie authors are constantly under the pressure (more so than trad. pubbed) to produce more books. A lot of this pressure is put on us by ourselves. No one can pressure me more than myself. But I also want to get it out for you. For the readers who want to see what I have next.
Could I absolutely kill myself and get no sleep for the next couple of weeks and get the book out by June 6? Probably, but I'd be an unhappy author person, and I don't want to hate this book or resent it. I want to get wrapped up in the story and know that when I hit the publish button, it's the best I can give you.
So that's why I'm pushing the date to June 16. It's only a week and a half later, but I have vacation from work, so I'll be able to devote my full attention to it. Also, this is the first book I'll also be doing in paperback. I'm not sure how long it's going to take me to format and get the proofs and all that, but I'm hoping by the end of June to have them so I can GIVE SOME OF THEM AWAY!!! The idea of actually having a physical thing to give away just tickles me.
In the long run, this will be better for everyone, and, most importantly, for my books. Please don't be mad :) I'll have lots of prizes to make up for it. Oh, and the cover reveal will still be on May 23.
