Year in review: The gaming year that will go down in history

Hardly any year has such a reputation in the gaming scene as the year 1998. This year, well-known games such as Half-Life , Metal Gear Solid and Starcraft were released. The Game Boy Color came onto the market with Pokémon Yellow (in Japan), the first PlayStation was at its peak and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released, according to the review aggregator Metacritic, the best-rated game of all time to date. 1998 is a legend because of Grim Fandango , Banjo-Kazooie and of course Baldur’s Gate , a game that almost single-handedly reinvigorated the role-playing genre.
