‘Take me back to the Innocence’

Santa Claus is coming to our homes
through dark dense jungles of the world –
in the icy night, solitary is his gait
between fragrant rows of luscious pines
which with fur and spruce rule his trudge.
A Lantern in hand lighting his lone path
which warms the rabbits and the deer –
who perhaps think it’s the sun come out,
for their lack of knowing light from dark.
Their innocence he regales cheerily
with stories of the complex human mind,
that knows light from dark, yet won’t align
to a right path, preferring obscure nights!
For the world’s children Santa takes toys
made by elves in his North Pole workshop,
so parents may retain their innocence
that’s becoming increasingly dear
in flying with digital technology, now AI –
so their souls may be shielded from
flying in childhood to toxic adulthood –
like his sleigh into which he’ll load the toys
before flying in air, around continents –
in time and space aided by flying reindeer.
