xAI: You want to solve the math

Elon Musk’s new company xAI is one of the most mysterious start-ups in Silicon Valley. In July, the website simply announced: “xAI’s goal is to understand the true nature of the universe,” including the 12 minds of its founding employees. In November, Musk posted a few screenshots of the new chatbot Grok, which led to all sorts of speculation. If you go to the site today, you’ll learn that Grok is “an AI modeled on The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy .” The bot was developed “to answer questions with a bit of humor” and has “a rebellious streak.”
