Is it fiction or is it not? :D
Hello, Write Edge readers! Today, as I was searching for a writing prompt for this week’s writing exercise, I came across one that made me smile. I knew, right away, that I had to make it the prompt for my story. With the holidays on us, I think a lot of people are going to be able to relate to this one. Here’s an excerpt:
Later that night, when you’re too full to eat dinner, you wonder if it was worth it after all. You can’t stomach another bite—literally. You think about how much you wish you’d stopped. “A moment on the lips, a lifetime of a gyp” is more like it.
Read the whole short story now on The Write Edge Writing Workshop!
Last week I shared in my #bookreviewpreview that I’ll be reviewing the newest release from Jessica Strawser on Wednesday. Her book, The Last Caretaker, came out at the beginning of the month. Find out what I thought of it in the middle of the week on The Write Edge Bookshelf!
Finally, at the end of this week we go back to Instagram where I’ll share with you what I’m reading and other bits and pieces from my writing/nonwriting activities. Missed previous posts? Find them now on Instagram with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or on my Facebook author page.
And a special shout-out! If you like supporting indie authors and having a chance to win cool prizes, check out LitRing’s Indulge with Indies Giveaway for the month of December. You can check it out here (and scroll down to see a familiar cover!)
Have a great week, readers!
E.R.G.
P.S. Tell a loved one this week that you care about them. Life is too short not to.
P.P.S. I’ve started writing my next book! More details to come at a later time…
