Finally back after a break!

Good evening, Write Edge readers! It’s been two weeks, I know, since I’ve posted anything. I didn’t intend for this break to be so long; it just sort of happened to…well…happen. But I’m glad I took it. Sometimes, as today’s entry for the Workshop indicates, a break is good.

Speaking of which, I’ve posted my haiku for this month. In what I’m sure is breaking all sorts of poetry rules, I’ve written a multi-stanza haiku set. Someone told me once that haiku is traditionally only one stanza, and I fully respect that, I do. There’s a beauty in the restraint of one stanza, 17 syllables, trying to capture everything on one’s heart and mind.

However, there’s also a certain satisfaction in breaking the rules. Check out my rule-breaking poetry now on The Write Edge Writing Workshop!

Also, because I’ve been so quiet online, I didn’t post a #bookreviewpreview this past week on Instagram. In the middle of the week, though, I’ll share my thoughts on The Bitter Past by debut author Bruce Borgos. Find out what I thought of this novel on Wednesday on The Write Edge Bookshelf!

Finally, yes, I will go back to Instagram this Friday. Find out what I’m reading and what else I’m up to in my writing and non-writing hours. There’s no telling what I’ll get up to this week, so you can find out along with me on Friday on Instagram!

Thank you for being there, for letting me take these breaks, and for welcoming me back, readers! Have a fantastic week!

E.R.G.

P.S. Tell a loved one you care about them. Life is too short not to.
