Ah, the “age-old” debate: Kindle or physical book? 📖✨

There’s something undeniably magical about the tangible pages of a book – the weight of the words in your hands, the satisfying flip of pages, and the freedom to annotate and truly make it yours.

I admit, I’m a bit old school in that regard. But I know the convenience of a Kindle has its own charm! (Like seeing all your highlighted quotes in one area, and being able to basically carry around 100 books at a time… the illusion of choice!!)

Kaylee I prefer a physical, paper book, but there are some scenarios where I don't have a choice or where I do prefer a digital copy.

The only time I truly don't have a choice is if the book is one that's out of the public domain and is therefore easily accessible through the internet as an eBook, PDF, or simply read in the browser on a website. Physical copies of books out of the public domain that are also free aren't something I've ever encountered in my life, mostly because thrift stores have to make money somehow and because physical books cost money to print.

I prefer digital copies when I want to add a lot of lengthy annotations; mind you, I do mark up my own copies of physical books for the most part, but there's only so much room in the margins, and I'm a writer.

I also prefer a digital copy when the book is a workbook. I dislike physical copies of workbooks because one can only fill them out once. Then I'm forced to use a word processor on my computer or a notebook and pen if I want to fill it out again.
