Forget Me Not - What Will Readers Connect With?
I was recently asked what readers will connect with in this story. I wanted to share my answer.
The heroine in this story, Rhea, never had the opportunity to live a normal life. Her life was spent on the run so she didn't get the opportunity to do the things that most girls do. She didn't attend school. She never got to go to dances or have boyfriends, or even have friends at all, for that matter. Rhea lived from one day to the next, never knowing how she was going to eat, or where she was going to sleep. The harrowing pain she's endured would crumble the strongest, but she always picked up the pieces of herself and came out stronger. I think readers will really resonate with her undeniable strength and ability to keep moving forward, no matter how hard it feels at the time. Then comes Alaric, the feral man who wants to lick her wounds and kiss her scars while punishing anyone who does her wrong.
