USAF T-39 shot down by a MiG-19

In January 1964, an unarmed USAF  T-39 Sabreliner on a training mission over Erfurt, East Germany was shot down by a MiG-19 jet fighter of the Soviet Air Force. 

All three occupants of the aircraft were killed, becoming direct casualties of the Cold War in Europe.
