Interview with a talented author“Oh what joy, an immensely satisfying read with the pace increasing until it becomes impossible to put down. Meticulous plotting, what a story!”
The above is an excerpt from my Amazon review of a book written by a talented writer. Who is this author and which book am I raving about?
I am privileged today to include an interview with
Gail Meath. I have read several of her books and I wish I had time to stop the merry-go-round of ordinary life and curl up with the rest of her books.
Let’s meet her:
What is your biggest source of inspiration for your writing? My father was an artist, painter and sculptor, who told me years ago to find my passion in life, which I knew at an early age was writing. My mom was an avid reader, so they both influenced me tremendously.
How many books have you written and are they in the same genre? What is your favourite genre and why?I love history and historical research. My first eight books are historical romances based on unknown or forgotten heroines, places, or events in time. Two years ago, I decided to lighten things up and started a cozy mystery series (six books so far). I fell in love with this genre.
In your writing, do you find you use a lot of your own experiences? Tell us one.I’ve used some of my own experiences, but even more fun is basing characters on people I know or have met, both good (protagonists) and bad (villains). My daughter gave me a sign that’s hanging on my wall, “Be careful or you’ll end up in my novel.”
Have you travelled a lot overseas?I haven’t had the opportunity to travel overseas at all. I believe that has a great deal to do with my love for historical research and writing historical novels. On my own, I can learn about different places, people, events in every era throughout the world, and when I write about them, I feel as though I’ve travelled there.
You have a new book published this October. Tell us about it and give us a Goodreads link please.Killjoy, Jax Diamond Mysteries Book 6 releases on 10/18, a fun Halloween spooky story for the series.

Many, many thanks to Gail for sharing. The book I was raving about is
The Perfect SisterI wonder if there are any other authors who include people they have known as disguised characters? Come on, own up!
If you’ve already read all of Gail’s good books but you haven’t read my latest (aren’t I cheeky?) then you might like to know that it’s on a Kindle Countdown Deal from 27/10/23 through until 2/11/23 at
0.99. Always
free on Kindle Unlimited.
It’s a time travel romance which follows on from Hide in Time (but is a stand alone story). To get away from two-timing heartbreaker Dr Nicolo Nylander, she sets off to visit Regency England. She knows the secret, she’s done her research – what could possibly go wrong?
Mistake in TimeI promised to try to remember to post an interesting quotation with every blog post. Here’s one from the American author Austin O’Malley:
“Those who deserve love the least need it most.”
Ooh, now there’s food for thought. What do you think?
