Autumn Riverside Drive walking tour dates from Ephemeral New York!

Which still-standing 1907 mansion on Riverside Drive has a basement tunnel leading to the Hudson River? Who was the not-yet-famous American writer came to a rock outcropping in Riverside Park every day to gaze at the Hudson River?

Which rich wife and mother living in a mansion on the Drive was so disturbed by tugboat horns on the riverfront that she formed a committee to suppress “unnecessary” noise? What is the monument designed to be a companion to Grant’s Tomb several blocks north?

Join Ephemeral New York on a breezy and insightful walking tour of Riverside Drive that explores these and other mysteries along Gilded Age Gotham’s former millionaire’s mile—once home to the city’s elite and still the site of spectacular mansions and little-known monuments.

Tickets are still available for this Sunday, October 15, as well as Sunday, October 29 and Sunday, November 12.

Each tour starts at 1 p.m.. and operates through the New York Adventure Club. Click here for tickets for Sunday, October 15 and here for Sunday, October 29. Hope to see a great turnout on these gorgeous fall dates, when Riverside is peaceful and crowd-free!
