My September 2023 Reads

Hallowe'en starts early in the book world. Readers Imbibing Peril started at the beginning of September, as did #SomethingWickedFall, and the Sleep When I'm Dead book club held a weekend-long readathon in the middle of the month.

I squeaked through #SpaceOperaSeptember on my own when my efforts to form a fleet failed. I have a lot of space opera on my TBR, so I am adding this one to my annual plan.

I also kinda sorta participated in #ShortySeptember, though I think I wasn't supposed to include children's picture books. Oh well, too bad so sad. I'm counting them anyway.

So that makes 19 books finished last month:

119. Abandoned: Hauntingly Beautiful Deserted Theme Parks
120. A Twisted Love Story
121. The Caiman
122. Blueberry Girl
123. Camp Damascus
124. In the Dream House
125. David Copperfield
126. Monstrilio
127. The Glass Forest
128. Stalking Jack the Ripper
129. Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism
130. Compulsory
131. Babel-17
132. Network Effect
133, Star Trek Cats
134. Star Trek: Envoy: A Captain Sulu Adventure
135. A War of Gifts
136. Young Goodman Brown
137. Love Me Or Else

Stina These are the prompts left over from Space Opera September. I'll double check later, but I don't think I finished any space opera books in October. I'm hoping to finish these off by the end of 2023 so I don't have to roll them over onto my personal reading challenge next year; that thing is already out of control.

Stage 2 - MISSION
Colonize: published by a small press

Stage 3 - UNPLANNED EVENT
Engine Failure: space horror/survival
Stuck in Dark Matter: hard sf
Intergalactic Incident: romance

Stage 4 - EPILOGUE
Celebrated Hero: reread a fave
Retire: series sequel or finale

Stina In November I read Leviathan Wakes for the hard sf Unplanned Event. It can also count as the romance book if I need it to.
