Peter E. Fenton October Newsletter

October is all about the GRL … the Gay Romance Literature Retreat taking place in Portsmouth Virginia from October 18th-22nd. This is the largest gay romance conference in North America and I’m looking forward to attending for the first time. So what does attendance mean? Well for starters there will be lots of opportunities to network with 125 authors from around the world who write gay romance. But even more exciting, is the chance to meet with SUPER FANS who love to read M/M romance and mystery novels.

Even if you aren’t attending the conference this year, you can still take advantage of promotions that the publisher has created, including the one above to win one of five free e-copies of Mann Hunt. To enter, click here.

I am also participating in a fun Halloween Scavenger Hunt sponsored by Coffee Time Romance. How do you play? Find the web page of each of the 16 participating authors, and look for a jigsaw puzzle piece somewhere on their home page. Then write down the name of the book which is seen on the piece. When you have all 16 pieces, enter the competition to win a set of 4 books by the authors that are part of the scavenger hunt. Which book of Peter E. Fenton’s will be featured? Play the game to find out. To start your hunt, click here.

Mann Hunt continues to grow in popularity, and for the second week in a row is the number one most popular e-book on the First For Romance site. This is the distribution hub for all of Pride Publishing’s novels. Even more exciting is that the book is starting to cross over from readers who like M/M romance, to readers who simply love a good mystery. In Australia, the book continues to stay in the top 500 newly released novels, and reviews continue to accumulate. Curious what others have to say? Check out the close to 120 reviews on Goodreads by clicking here. And if you want to join the conversation, why not put your review up on Amazon or Goodreads. Even a star rating lets other readers know that this is a book worth picking up.

Writing continues on the new novel Hoodoo House. This book picks up two months after Mann Hunt and follows Charlie and Declan’s relationship as they try and solve the case of an apparent suicide that might be murder. The mystery takes place in Calgary and the Badlands of Drumheller and will be released by Pride Publishing on June 25th. Watch this newsletter for more information on ways you can be the very first to read a copy of the novel.

Here’s some of the swag that I’ll be giving away at GRL, including Canada pins provided by my local MP, Canadian chocolate bars, stickers, pens (arriving tomorrow), signed postcards featuring three different promotions for GRL attendees, PLUS the chance to win a Peter E. Fenton shirt at the Friday night bingo. I’ll be posting daily on my Instagram and Facebook feeds from the conference, and when I get back, there will be a full report.
You can see my daily posts by clicking on the links below and following or liking the page.
In the meantime, thanks for reading. I look forward to letting you in on what happened at GRL. In the next newsletter, I’ll update you on the two novels I have coming out in 2024, plus I’ll be announcing the winner of one of my most unusual promotions yet.
Until then … Warmest Regards,
