Ich bin ein Berliner
In June 1963, 22 months after the East German communist overnment erected the Berlin Wall to prevent mass emigration to West Berlin, US president John F. Kennedy spoke to a crowd in West Berlin declaring “Ich bin ein Berliner” ( I am a Berliner).
