My first post on my new blog.
I have a lot going on in my life at the moment. A journey to Scotland to give a talk at a book festival. This is the first time I’ve given a talk at a book festival, but I don’t expect it to be any different from giving a talk to a local writing group.
When I gave a talk at Brentwood Writing Group I’m busy working on a painting of Sir Ted a well loved member of the Green family. Sir Ted isn’t finished yet, but I’m very pleased with him so far.

I started drawing as a child in my junior school. I loved the fact you could take a flat surface and make it three dimensional. I enjoy learning about artists’ lives and the stories behind their works. At sixteen I failed to get into the local art college because I was unable to past the entrance exam. Gutted, I worked in low paying jobs. Soon life got in the way. Married, divorced and then raising a young son I put my art on hold. Mortgage, loans and household bills meant I had to focus on living instead of dreaming.
Now here I am sitting in my art studio writing this post and working on my tenth painting with six books published and over hundred short stories in print. It has been a long journey but I’m hoping you will join me for next part of it.
Welcome to my world.
