«Squared Love Everlasting» (2023) Rom-Com on Netflix Movie Review: Welcome to the World of the Utterly Predictable.

Squared Love Everlasting is a 2023 rom-com movie directed by Filip Zylber. It is the third installment in the Squared Love film series, following Squared Love (2021) and Squared Love 2 (2022). The film stars Adrianna Chlebicka, Mateusz Banasiuk, and Ina Sobala.

Welcome to the world of men who, after proposing marriage, do an abdominal workout. Welcome also to the world of traditional women who, happy and radiant when proposed to, organize a perfect wedding.

The third installment of this romantic comedy saga takes us through the purest spirit of romantic comedies: charming and almost perfect lead actors who fall in love, and more or less funny supporting characters that make the movie enjoyable to watch.

Plot

When Monika gets a positive pregnancy test, Enzo decides to propose to her.

Movie Review

Squared Love is a successful series of Polish films that has taken us in recent years through the most clichéd territory of traditional romantic comedy: two charming and attractive actors in a romantic relationship with some jokes sprinkled in. All of this without straying from a very, very proper tone and always adhering to the rules of tradition.

You can expect jealousy, a few jokes that will make you smile lightly, but nothing that deviates from what is considered correct and established. It neither breaks the traditional mold of comedy nor do its characters come to fill your life in a bohemian way.
In this third installment, we have more of the same, except this time the narrative revolves around starting a family, having children, and ultimately growing up and leaving behind that pernicious life of youth, vice, and transgression (you would have to watch another movie for that wild version).

The characters have evolved, yes, but they still follow such a strictly predictable pattern that it’s like observing a wave function of the most probable outcome without its elements ever managing to break the quantum or Newtonian scheme: always the same, forever (as the title of the movie suggests).

It is clear: it neither wants nor aims to surprise anyone. It is a traditional movie created for lovers of tradition, and they will feel comfortable with its television-like cinematography and its characters who, deep down, have come into the world to find love. Not to search for the hidden meaning of a wave function.

They will all probably enjoy it.

Our Opinion

A completely traditional movie that works for those who come looking for something pre-established and want to find a romantic story that has evolved from its beginnings into everything we already expected.

Welcome to the world of the utterly predictable.
