$4000/Month Making 1-Page Websites

Published August 21, 2023 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty
I recently came across this reddit thread asking people what they’re doing to make $5K/month
One response that stood out to me was from a guy named Matt Merrick.
He lists 4 ways he’s making money online
1. Blogs/ affiliate sites. Making 20k/month.
2. Newsletters. I make $100 a month right now from my newsletter subscribers (it costs $10/year) so yes I have 10 premium members. I share how and ways to find the perfect niche (link) help you grow to earn money online with my tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way + share income reports of all my earnings.
3. Merch By Amazon – 2k a month. Teepublic $500 All the rest $100 if I’m lucky.
4. Site manager ? Not sure how to explain this one but I host local businesses website in my area. I charge a yearly fee of anywhere from $100-300. I host it all on carrd. I’m at about 300 businesses. I update some of them never in a year and others weekly. All depends.
While the first 3 businesses there require quite a bit of time invested up front, the last one strikes me as something you can get going pretty fast
Matt targets local businesses like delis and barbershops, builds them simple websites using Carrd, a low-priced one-page site builder…
The biggest plan on carrd is 500 accounts for like $399/year. So I make my money after 2-3 sites.
If Matt’s average client pays him $150, this simple business would be earning him about $45,000 a year (almost $4000 a month)
Sure, most small businesses could set up something like this themselves, but as Matt says…
They don’t wanna do it. Don’t know about carrd. Remember I’m not saying I’m targeting big companies or startups. My main target is barbershop in my local area, deli’s, some pizza shop that don’t like Uber eats.
You could also use something like ComponentsUI which is a collection of pre-built components and templates for Carrd.co to speed things up and make amazing sites for businesses in your area
As for actually getting clients, Matt explains how he’s done it…
it’s stores I’ve gone to over the years. I guess it can [work] anywhere. But I don’t advertise so it’s really just word of mouth. And I walk into the business knowing about their website and kinda just explain how I do this and help people. Some say sure other say I’m fine. I open with my Prices and most people just like it for that
To get the ball rolling, you could offer a free website to a couple of clients, maybe friends or family who own a local business. Get some experience and build a small portfolio that way
Let me know if you give this a try and how it works out for you.
