Responsibility...

Parents aren’t technically responsible for their children, because their children are unique human beings who have their own destiny, fate, and karma to work out.

In reverse too, children aren’t technically responsible for their parents, because their parents come with their own destiny, fate, and karma in the grand weave of Life.

Both parents and children CHOOSE to care for each other. That choice is what makes everything meaningful. That choice is what defines family. That choice is why they call it Love.
