a focused reader

On Saturday, Steven Brewer, author of the Revin's Heart series of steampunk novellas that I've enjoyed, had a tent set up at the farmers market the next town over, to sell the novellas and also some of his writing in Esperanto.

I honestly can't figure it! He had a haunted, preoccupied sort of look, the look of someone who spends a lot of time in their own mind. Maybe the display offered a temporary (very temporary) distraction, but then his internal whatevers took over again.
