Memory Exercize

Here’s a memory test for you. Who is the most interesting person you have ever sat next to on an aeroplane?

Here’s my answer:

On a flight from Sydney, Australia, to the UAE, I sat next to a young woman who was scared of flying. I tried to distract her and she told me she was a nurse returning to Africa via Dubai. Because it seemed an odd route to take, we got talking further. I discovered that she had trained at a hospital in the middle of the African bush. “Which one?” I enquired for good reason. To cut a long conversation short, she was returning as a fully trained nurse to the very same hospital/leprosarium/school/farm where I had been on the staff. Africa is a very big continent yet one tiny spot on the map created a huge coincidence.
