From the book Atomic Habits by James Clear…
The difference between a good day and a bad day is often a few productive and healthy choices made at decisive moments. Each one is like a fork in the road, and these choices stack up throughout the day and can ultimately lead to very different outcomes.
Those words in the book are accompanied by this diagram
When I find my day going off the rails, I try to pause and ask myself this question…
How can I still make this a great day?
Even if something bad has happened, asking that question usually reminds me that that whole day doesn’t have to be ruined.
For example, say I have a terrible night of sleep and am dreading a busy day ahead.
I try to ask myself…
How can I still make this a great day?
Asking that question helps me reframe the day as an opportunity, and come up with a few ideas to not just endure the day, but to make it awesome
Try it yourself and let me know how it goes.
