Lily and Snow

“Snow, I’m hungry.”

A bitter blade of grass sticking out of one side of his mouth, the hazel-eyed sylph turned his head to glance at the girl who murmured his name. Side by side, they sat on the ground with their backs pressed against the trunk of a thick, old naseberry tree. Rain had come briefly, hours ago, and gone. Now Lily, barefoot, curled her dainty toes into the soft damp grass. 

She smiled sweetly at Snow while twirling a finger in her wild, blue mass of curls. Willowy and bird-boned, she...
